Carolyn Culbreth Williams

Carolyn Culbreth Williams the daughter of the late Earl and Lewelyn Culbreth was born, May 3, 1957 in Sampson County and departed this life on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. 

Carolyn completed her high school education at Lakewood High School in 1975. 

Carolyn worked at Zaire’s Department Store in both Newburgh New York and Fayetteville NC for many years. She earned a Cosmetology degree in 2000 from Sampson Technical Community College and an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Wilson Technical Community College in 2009.

Carolyn enjoyed watching football games and she was one who never met a stranger. She was loved by many. 

Carolyn received her 1 year certificate of sobriety on December 4, 2025. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and she was baptized on December 11th, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her, Mable Culbreth Rich, grandfather Reynold George Culbreth, and brother Samuel Earl Culbreth. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Rasheeda Williams, grandson O’shea Barnes, Roseboro, NC; sisters Toni Devane, Wilson NC; Barbara Faison, Virginia; and Brother Billy R. Howard (Esther).  

Nieces: Tashana Howard, Jeanelle Howard-LeGrand, Meleanea Johnson, and Elizabeth Devane; Nephews: Billy D. Howard and Walker Devane Jr. 

Long time childhood friend LaVerne C. Johnson and a host of extended family and friends.

The Funeral Service will take place on Monday December 22, 2025 at Butler and Son Funeral Home, Roseboro, NC at 1:00 pm.

Interment: Roseboro Cemetery ( Marion Amos Road, Roseboro)

Public Viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
