Christopher Charles Butler was born on August 13, 1968 in Sampson County to the late Charles Whitted and Elouise Oates Butler. He departed this life on Friday February 6, 2026 at SouthWood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
While growing up, Chris attended Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Bearskin Missionary Church and Point Level Disciple Church. He continued to serve the Lord and others even while In Missouri. Chris attended Midway High School, where he played football. He graduated on a Friday, June 12, 1987
He built a life from working on the farm during the summers in NC to a career marked by hard work and perseverance. He was employed 12 years with Timken in Springfield, Missouri, there he drove a forklift. His coworkers enjoyed when he worked, because he was on time and was very productive until his health declined. Despite his demanding schedule, he always made time for his passions- hunting and fishing.
Chris was a loving and devoted brother, uncle and dear friend. He leaves a wealth of love, happiness, friendship and good memories to all the lives he touched. He was preceded in death by two nephews and two brothers- in- law.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Elbert Ray Butler (Faye), of Newton Grove, NC, Grady Butler Jr. of Clinton,NC, Elma Louise Kellon, of Clinton, NC, Janis Faison of Clinton, NC, Darrell Glenn Butler (Debbie), of Clinton NC, Stephanie Blue(Ricky), of Clinton NC and Yolanda B. Rayner (Andre’), of Clayton NC and a niece, whom he called his little girl, (Quindolyn Sharmel Ciera Butler) of Clinton NC as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral Service will be Friday, February 13, 2026 at Butler & Son Funeral Services, Clinton, NC at 1:00 pm.
Interment: Sandhills Cemetery, Clinton, NC
Public Viewing will be Friday, February 13, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm before the service.
