Everlina Webb Obituary

Everlina Webb of Salemburg NC, was born on January 23, 1917 in Sampson County. She was born to the late Sarah Underwood and the late Alexander Tucker. Three sisters, Eva Howard, Mary F. Edwards, Alleen McDowell and one brother William McKinely (Sun) Tucker, whom all preceded her in death.

She received her early education within the Sampson County school system. She grew up on a farm and worked with her parents in her early years. At an early age, she grew up attending her family church New Light AME Zion in Salemburg, NC. She continued to attend New Light AME Zion Church throughout her entire life and remained faithful unto God until she could no longer physically attend.  She continued to praise God by watching and hearing the gospel of the glory of the cross of God from the comfort of her home.

Everlina met and married the love of her life her husband Alfred Hester Webb, who preceded her in death. To this union there were no children born. Together they raised their nephews Frank Tucker and Ray Tucker as their own.  She also raised Priscilla K Bennett her great niece with motherly love. Throughout her lifetime she has opened her heart and home to many individuals and families. She was able to extend her helping hand to Gloria Cooper (deceased) in raising Jennifer Cooper and Jeffrey Cooper for many years in her home and so many more. She was a mother figure, grandmother figure, auntie and so much more to many people throughout her life.

She loved the lord and she showed it by treating others the way she wanted to be treated with love and respect. She gave the same love and respect to all of her family and friends. She was undisputedly a faithful humble woman of love and compassion. She was overwhelmingly kind and cultivated with the fruits of the spirit faithfulness, peace, joy, self-control, patience, goodness, gentleness, kindness and love.

Everlina kept the faith, she trusted God and lived through many storms. She was there for you in anyway that she could be. Whether you simply needed something to drink, those of you that know her know that she always had the “Kool Aid” ready. If you needed somewhere to sleep she had a room or made room.  If you were hungry she always had food ready or made some and she was always there if you needed someone to talk to. Her heart, arms and ears were always open and available.

Everlina was truly a blessed woman of God who kept the faith and trusted God no matter what. One of her favorite scriptures was Ephesians 6:1-3 (KJV):

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Honour thy father and thy mother; which is the first commandments with promise;

That it may be well with thee,  and thou mayest live long on the earth.

She definitely lived by example.  Everlina lived 103 amazing years on this earth in peace.

Everlina Webb leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews, other family and friends to continue to love ye one another.
