Freddie Howard Obituary

At Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC, God in his infinite wisdom, decided to call one of his children home.  Brother Freddie Douglas Howard bravely and willingly answered the call on Saturday August 8th 2020.  Freddie was born in Sampson County to the late George D. Howard and Beatrice Evans Howard on December 27th 1948.  He attended Clinton schools as a youth and Charles E. Perry School and he proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer.  Freddie joined Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church at a young age and was an active member for the majority of his life.  Freddie met the love of his life Janice Parker Howard in the mid-sixties and they were married January 10, 1970.  Out of this union were three children, Lisa Nicole Howard (Al) and Angela Michele Sloan (Damon), both of Clinton, NC and Brian Douglas Howard of the home.  He was preceded in death by both parents, his in-laws (Marvin & Serena Parker), as well as a brother, Myron Joseph Howard.

Freddie worked for many years at Flakes Tires and continued his education at Sampson Community College. He joined Mingle Hill Disciples of Christ Church later in life.  He was employed by Smithfield Packing as a Supervisor for many years where he worked until retirement.  Freddie was well known throughout the community as someone always willing to lend a helping hand with a side of good advice.
