We the family bow our head in humble submission to the will of God as we surrender Gene into the Father’s keeping. We are grateful for the years we shared in his life with him. We are in total agreement with Him as we trust in the love, and understanding of the all wise God in the assurance that whatever God orders is right.
On July 1, 2021, God in His divine love and wisdom called our beloved, Gene Garland Perdie and granted him peace and serenity.
He was born October 1, 1946 to the late Garland and Edna Devone Perdie. After completing high school in 1964, at Charles E. Perry. He enlisted into the army and served his country during the Vietnam War era. He was honorable discharge from service and begin a career in the health care field. Mr. Perdie worked at Sampson Regional Medical Center and also Clinton Appliance and Schindler.
He was a member of First Missionary Baptist. He served as Superintendent of Sunday School and was a member of the Trustee Board.
Gene Perdie was a great husband, father, bother, and grandfather. He was the pillar of his family. We truly loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Garland and Edna Devone Perdie, a sister Leslie Freeman, and a brother Gilbert Perdie.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 43 years, Martha Ann Simpson Perdie, a fatherly stepson, Michael Simpson and daughter Shina Simpson. He raised Benjamin Roundtree (Alumance) and Myesha Monroe (Fayetteville). Grandchildren: Ayana Simpson (Garland), Kayla, Sumicca and Jayla Simpson. Great Grandchildren: Azyanna, Ariana, Kayden, Aayden Simpson (Garland). One sister: Carolyn (Harry) Simpson of Roseboro, brother-in-law: Bobby Simpson of Roseboro, sister-in-law: Jessie Mae Williams of Wilson.
Graveside Service: Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Roseboro Cemetery (Marion-Amos Rd.) Roseboro, NC
