George Thomas Bennett

On the evening of February 19, 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital of Charlotte, NC, George Thomas Bennett, formerly of Clinton, NC  was called home to be with the Lord.

George was born in Sampson County on March 24th, 1948 to the late Mitchel & Savannah Bennett, as the 8th son in a line of 11 boys and 1 girl.

He was a 1966 graduate of Charles E. Perry High School.  On July 10, 1966 he married the beautiful lady with the hazel eyes, Peggy Ann Beckwith, who preceded him in death 25 years ago. A man of many
trades, George's known professions were truck driver and farmer.

George is survived by his 3 daughters  Elder Peggy Renee' Goodman of Smithfield NC, Lisch LaChelle Terrell of Goldsboro NC, and Macie Savannah Bennett of Charlotte NC, mother in law Macie Carter of  Brunswick NJ, 5 brothers, 1 sister, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
