Hattie Frazier Obituary

Hattie Lee Richardson Frazier was born October 22, 1960 in Bunnell, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Ruby Inez Gilyard Ward and Ben Thomas of Homerville, Georgia. Hattie was preceded in death by her late husband; George Frazier (Willard, NC), both parents, and two brothers; Warnell “Teddy” Williams (Bunnell, FL) and Willie (Betty) Thomas (Darien, GA).

Hattie spent a small part of her early childhood living in Eau Gallie, Florida with her family. She was adopted by the late Ora Lee Richardson and Johnelle Richardson who later raised her in Colombia, Tennessee, and moved to Clinton, NC in the late 1970’s. Hattie attended her senior year at Clinton High School where she met and later married James Raynor Jr, and had two children: Crystal and Delrick. Hattie enjoyed being a member of her girl’s scout troop as a child and going on camping trips. She loved the outdoors and going to the beach with her family and friends. She loved taking road trips with her children, sitting outside to enjoy nature and spending time with her grandchildren, who she loved greatly.

Hattie began working for the Department of Social Services in 1982 and after 30 years of service, she decided to retire in 2012. Many years ago, Hattie dedicated her life to Christ and served as a dedicated member at Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church of Clinton, NC. She was a member of the adult choir until her health declined and she was an active member on the Pastor’s Aide Committee. While at home on Monday September 13, 2020, Sister Hattie’s name was called by her Heavenly Father. She will leave behind in her memory a daughter Crystal Raynor; a son Delrick (Lissza) Raynor both from Clinton, NC;  7 sisters: Ruby Gilyard and Kimberly Ward both of Crawfordville, FL, Angela (Frank) Mosley of Tallahassee, FL, Lynda Thomas and Cynthia Thomas both from Darien, Georgia, Helen Rita Jinks from Blackshear, GA and 2 brothers:  Danny Ward of West Palm Beach FL and Joe Thomas of Darien, GA; 4 grandchildren: Ja’darian Raynor, Tae’Khouri Raynor, La’Dai Raynor and Josiah Sloan Raynor. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her fur-baby “Ginger” along with a host of nieces and nephews.
