Ida Pearl McLamb born September 4, 1947 in Salemburg, North Carolina to the late Allen Watson McLamb and Louise Bannerman McLamb.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Waymon McLamb, Andrew Mark McLamb, Steven Allen McLamb and Timothy Allen McLamb (at birth). She departed this life Saturday afternoon around 11:30 pm at her home. She was 73 years old.
Ida Pearl received her education through high school in the Sampson County School System graduating in June 1965. Her 1st job was a teacher’s assistant at Charles E. Perry High School. Afterwards she worked at West Point Stevens as a textile manufacturer for 28 years. When that facility closed, Ida went back to school to focus on Early Childhood Education. She worked at Heavenly Heaven Daycare for a short while before opening her own daycare, Lady Lamb’s Daycare. She retired from Panda Daycare prior to making Tennessee her home.
Ida Pearl is survived by her daughter, Monica (Tramayne) Meeks and one and done grandson, Jared Meeks, Adams, Tennessee; three siblings: Alvinia Parker (Harry), Salemburg, North Carolina; Reverend Dr. Alvin Watson McLamb (Vanessa), Rock Hill, South Carolina; Dail Louise McLamb, Fayetteville, North Carolina; one sister-in law, Bobbie McLamb, Round Rock, Texas; two aunts, Mamie Lassiter; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Lorie Dixie Jones, Salemburg, North Carolina: and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11:00 am at Roseboro Cemetery within the Snow Hill Community in Roseboro, NC. Mask are required. Services will be live-streamed through Butler & Son Funeral Home Facebook Page.
