On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Irvin Butler was called to rest at UNC Nash Hospital, Rocky Mount, NC. He was born to the late Irvin Watson and the late Connie Butler Brown on December 20, 1951 in Far Rockaway, NY. He was raised by his grandparents-the late Alonza Butler, Sr. and Sis. Allie Simmons Butler. He joined Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
He graduated from Hobbton High School in 1970. He was an awesome basketball player. He later furthered his education at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC where he met Ms. Brenda Maye. They dated and was married for 54 years. Mr. Irvin served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany when the couple brought forth their son, Irvin Tyrone Butler.
Mr. Butler worked at Allen Cannings in Turkey, NC and Mount Olive Pickles until his health began to decline. Mr. Butler was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan and a Washington Redskins fan. He loved family, and participating in family gathering by cooking the most tender pot roast.
He is preceded in death by a sister: Diana Watson-Bryant.
Mr. Butler leaves to cherish his memories: Wife-Brenda Maye Butler; Son-Tyrone Butler (Santrah); Daughter-Felecia Moore; Brother-Warren "Chuck" Butler (Ida); Sister-Wendy Herring;
Two Aunts :Mallie Stocks and Nancy Thompson.
Seven Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Butler & Son Funeral Chapel (410 North Boulevard, Clinton, NC 28328) at 2:00 pm.
Public Viewing 1 hour prior to the service.
