Judith Bethea Obituary

On Monday morning, October 16, 2023, God came and gently clasped Judith Ann Bethea in His arms and carried her home to eternal rest. Judith was born on July 19, 1954, to the late Rev. Jessie B. Bethea and Sarah C. Bethea in Sampson County, North Carolina.

Judith attended Sampson County School System and graduated from high school in 1972. She graduated from North Carolina Central University in 1976 with a BS Degree in Business Administration. She was a continuous learner by attending various seminars and workshops that enhanced her leadership skills. During Judith’s professional career, she worked in various positions from credit analyst, order entry billing specialist, financial analyst, contracts administration, and retired as a contracts manager.

Judith joined Holy Tabnerable Holiness Church in Roseboro, NC at an early age. She worked in various capacities in the church, including the choir, and becoming a member of the Young People Holy Association (YPHA). She remained spiritually connected to her Christian foundation throughout her life.
Judith was active in various organizations within the community, including Altrusa International of Washington, DC, DMV Sisters, and National Contract Managers’Association. She enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends and family.

Judith’s memory is held close by her three sisters: Elizabeth B. (George) Parker, Sudie B. Johnson and Rethea B. Faision; five nephews: Edward Walden Jr.(Yolanda), George Parker Jr., Gilbert Johnson Jr., Jessie Johnson, D. Christopher Johnson; four nieces: Chonda Walden, LaTonya Parker, La-Tasha Best-Gaddy, LaToski Johnson; two great- nephews: Isaiah Gaddy and Gerrin Parker; five great nieces: Tori Betts, Korey Douglas, Kamaya Deas, Zoie Walden, Kymberly Gaddy; one maternal aunt: Christine Flanagan; and one paternal uncle: James Bethea; several cousins and many close friends.

Judith cared lovingly for all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She had a special bond with George Sr., LaTonya, George Jr., and Gerrin Parker. She was embraced by the Parker family who considered her an integral part of their family. She is remembered as a loving, sweet, humorous, inquisitive, and caring person by all of her family and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday, October 27, 2023 at Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church (531 Marion-Amos Road, Roseboro, NC) at 1:00 pm. 

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park (3620 Roseboro Highway, Clinton, NC)

Public Viewing will be Friday, October 27, 2023 at Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro, NC from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. 

Funeral Service will be live-streamed through Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro, NC Facebook Page.
