Mable “Bobby” Ray

One Sunday morning, December 13th, 2020. God calls one of his angels home Mrs. Mable Ray.
Mable “Bobby” Smith Moore Ray, daughter of the late Charlie and Fordie Monroe Smith was
born on January 22,1934 in Roseboro, North carolina. Mable is the mother of six children:
Gwendolyn King, Cynthia Sharp, Bruce Moore (d.), Andrea Faison, Bobby Moore and John
Moore. Two step ch[ldren, Alphonso Moore (Annie), Brenda McKnight. Her siblings are Charlie
Smith Jr. (d.), Lillie Reaves (d.), Gladys Jackson, Lennon smith (d.) and Godbrother , Cardell
Ferguson (d.). Mable attended Roseboro Colored High School and was a member of the Class
of 1951. She worked at the Roseboro Cotton Mill for many years. In 1970 she attended
Sampson Community College where she studied and became a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She worked at the Tri-County Community Health Center in Newton Grove for many years.
Mable has been a lifelong member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Roseboro NC. where
she remained faithful and was one of the mothers of the Church until her death.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Gwendoly King, Cynthia Sharp, Andrea
Faison, and Brenda McKnight. Her sons Bobby Moore, John Moore and Alphonso Moore. A
loving sister Gladys Jackson. Two special grandchildren that she raised Demetraius Moore and
Jasmine Moore and a host of grandchildren, great grands, great great grands, nieces, nephew,
cousins and friends.

Graveside Service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Roseboro Cemetery. 

Public Visitation: Thursday, December 17, 2020 11:45am -12:45 pm at Butler & Son Funeral Home, Roseboro, NC. 

Masks are required. Graveside Service will be live-streamed through Butler & Son Funeral Home Facebook page.
