Maggie Monk

Mother Maggie Leonia Monk, age 85, Trapper Run Lane, Clinton, NC, transitioned from her earthly labor to her eternal reward on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the UNC Health SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home in Pittsboro, NC. 

She leaves to cherish her memory five devoted daughters: Helena B. Blackwell (George), Elaine Van Liew (Baron), Sherry Regina Monk, Aretha Gray (Richard), and Michelle; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Butler & Son Funeral Home, Roseboro, NC.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at New Hope MBC in Wade, NC on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a viewing at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
