Age 85- of 303 E. Carver St., Durham, NC departed from this life on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Carver Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Durham, NC.
Mr. Robert Alexander Bullard, the son of the late Swindell Bullard and Margie Bullard, was born March 17, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his education from Durham County Schools where he graduated from Hillside High School in 1954. Robert joined Russell Memorial AME Church in Durham at an early age and later became a member of Mt. Calvary United Church of Christ. He resided in Durham until his death.
Robert was married to Barbara Turrentine Bullard of Durham, NC at his time of death.
Robert retired from Central Carolina Bank and Trust Company after 35 years of service and later went on to work for Durham Public Schools until his health began to decline.
Robert thoroughly enjoyed going deep sea fishing off the coast of North Carolina with his friends, watching the Dallas Cowboys play NFL football and the Duke Blue Devils. He looked forward to spending time with his family and many childhood friends. He found joy visiting the sick members of his family, church and community. His laughter and humorous personality were contagious for anyone who graced his presence for only a few minutes. He loved introducing his children and grandchildren to anyone who came around, even if he did it multiple times while you were in his presence.

A private graveside service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 11:00 am in Glenview Cemetery on Hwy 55 in Durham, NC.
Mask are required and social distancing will be observed.
Service will also be live-streamed on Butler & Son Funeral Facebook Page at the time of the service.
